yellowstone {2011}

once again we decided to make the trip to yellowstone. we went last year and had so much fun that we decided to go back, but bring along a few more people. ellie and jorge made it and also heather and ben and their kids. 14 of us total and we all managed to survive. we all stayed at a rv campground at madison arms, which is right on hebgen lake so the kids had fun running down there and looking for small animals. the weather was on the cool side, but we seemed to have missed most of the rain. all things said...... it was a good trip and we are planning another for next year.

i finally got around to finishing a chest of drawers for dane.

with a lot of help from my mom we had this finished pretty quick!

cade made a new top and did such a great job.

i love the decorative edge.

i could not have bought a cuter one!

as most of you know.... cade loves to ski. so this year ava
got a season pass since cade did and she went up for the first time.

she thought it was pretty fun and did not complain at all.

after a few lessons from dad and a couple of runs down little

beaver all she wanted was to go in and get some hot chocolate and some fries.

i can't beieve my little girl is already big enough to ski!

now that dane is crawling all over the house {granted it only started yesterday}

ava thinks that she needs to be the mommy.

she follows him around trying to get him to "fetch" things.

every time he turns in the direction of the stairs all i hear is

"mom, dane is going down the stairs".

it was so much easier when there wasonly one child in the house.

now i just have to wait until she is not so

excited about him crawling. then maybe

i will get some peace and quiet.

time to break out the baby gate.

Hardware Ranch

last weekend we decided to go to hardware ranch

with my brother and his family and my sister

and her husband. we went on the sleigh ride

and got to see lots of elk.

i think that the kids had a good time. as usual dane

fell asleep on the way and missed it.

his eyes did pop open right as we were

done with the ride, so i guess

he got to see some elk also.

poor kid....he seems to miss

all the fun!

Blessing for Dane

Dane was finally blessed on Oct. 2nd. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We actually had a luncheon outside, and it was still a little warm. That is my kind of "fall weather". Thanks to everyone who came and especially thanks to my dad for blessing my little man.

this past saturday my little sister got married. i didn't get very many pictures since i was in a lot of them and we left the temple while she was still getting some done. normally i would have taken lots of pictures. even at her reception i was to busy to snap photos. so here are just a couple. i can't wait to see what her photographer got.

raspberry days

we went to bear lake a week or so ago and had no idea it was raspberry days until the day before we left. we barley got a camp site (last one in the campground). only took about 20 minutes to get a huge trailer in a tiny tiny parking spot. it was so busy i have never seen so many people there. we had a great time. as a bonus of it being raspberry days there were helicopter rides so we did that. i don't think we will the chance to ever ride in one again (knock on wood, no life flight please). anyways we had fun playing at the beach and at our campground.

each year we go to a family reunion camp out. we always have a good time. this year not as many members of the family made it, but we still had a great time. cade brought the 4 wheeler and that was a big hit with the kids. there were puppies and ponies. jump ropes and crafts. it was nice to have a relaxing weekend.... not one thing on the agenda.

this is what camping should be like

we needed a family vacation this year and anyone who knows us knows we love to camp. ashley and i were talking about yellowstone and decided we would reserve a campground and head up there for a few days. we all (yes 7) crammed into aaron's truck, hooked up the trailer and pulled out of dodge. we had a great time. it was fun to see all the wildlife (bears, buffalo, elk, coyote's, and bald eagle). the weather was perfect. campground was awsome. can't wait until dane is old enough to enjoy it.

i went back to work yesterday to cover some vacation time and can i tell you how nice it was to have an adult conversation!! i did miss my cute little monkeys by the end of the day, all i wanted to do was give them a big squeeze. cade took them out to visit his mom and didn't get home until 9:00. he just kept telling me to enjoy the free time....... i watched tv, folded laundry, did dishes, cleaned up the living room. wow what a great time right? anyways, ava was asleep so i didn't get to see her, but dane was sure happy to see me. he must have known i had a long day and was tired because he slept from 10:00 until 6:00. talk about a little piece of heaven.

i gave it a good shot.

"i want a picture with baby guy" ava told me.... so there you go. dane

could not hold still of course, but that was the best i could do.

dane didn't like getting his picture taken and started to fuss right off

the bat.

then ava decided to help take pictures. she did pretty good. about half

of them had dane in them.

a better way to clean...

here is a little tip that my sister in law told me about. cleaner can be so expensive (especially when you use it all day everyday) so try this next time you are out buying spray cleaner.
you will need
-1 bottle mr. clean antibacterial cleaner
-1 spray bottle (i purchased mine at wal-mart for $0.98)
-1 cup measure

make sure you have the right cleaner (i didn't get the antibacterial the first time around). then measure out 1/4 cup mr. clean. fill your cleaner bottle with water to the fill line. then add your mr. clean. that's it! smells really good. i use this to clean almost everything. this bottle will make a bunch of refills too. just think how much money you will save on cleaner.

lagoon {it's what fun is}

once again nucor had their lagoon day for employees and family.

as much as i hate going to lagoon, it was a fun day. ava finally is into the rides and will

go on them by herself or sit with another kid that she does not know!

we took dane with us which was a mistake. he was so hot the whole time. every time i picked him up we soaked in sweat (it was 95 degrees). i really wish that i had found a sitter for him.

cade and i each got to go on one ride (adult ride). i chose the re-entry and cade chose tidal wave.

ava did ride with cade and loved it. i think that i am getting to old for the rides. i was seriously sweating bullets waiting for the big drop. i barley survived.

by the time we left, ava was drained and looked like she had a rough day. her hair elastics popped out about 10 minutes into lagoon (did anyone know that sunscreen will make elastics break??) well i learned the hard way. so she looked a little grubby, but she fit in with the rest of the crowd.

can't wait for next year!

i have been waiting for this day for a long time. it was a long week of

worrying about her having an accident while out, but she did so good.

my little man

for those of you who have not heard already, Dane was born Monday 4/12/2010 at 8:10 pm. he weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz and was 19.5 inches long. i could not have been happier. i won't bore anyone with the details, but i thought some of you would like to see this little guy! due to lack of time i am just uploading a couple pictures quick. when I get some extra time I will post some more pictures.

p.s. for those of you who are wondering how ava is handling all this.......... it was a rough start, but she is finally coming around. she really loves to help even though everything is taking twice as long. at first she didn't really know what to think of him and told me to put him back in my belly, but by day 2 she loved him. now she might be doing well with the baby, but she is having a hard time with me. she is so clingy, always wants me to hold her, and now wants to sleep in my bed. it has been hard, but she is doing a little better everyday!

cade found this really great fish lamp at the grocery store the other night. ava absolutely loves it. it is the biggest piece of junk ever! it sounds like it is going to explode and only gets worse every night. while cade was getting it all set up for ava we started reading the box......i don't even know what to say. just scroll down and read them for yourself!

We had our 20 wk ultrasound last week and everything was great. The baby measures great. There is one thing that we are missing..... we don't know what we are having! we had our little halloween party last weekend and i think it turned out good. everyone did really good with their food idea's, which is my favorite part about this get together. believe it or not we did not really get many pictures! guess we were to busy chasing little one's around the house and helping kids with the games. cade did get a few of the food so i wanted to share.

Cade's B-day Surprise

this year for cade's birthday i wanted to do something that i normally would never do.... so i planned a vacation. i decided that a cruise would be fun. we have been to couple places in mexico and really like to go there so i booked the mexican riviera cruise. we headed down to cabo san lucas and then to ensenada. we did some snorkeling at santa maria bay in cabo and it was beautiful. the water so pretty. i have never seen such turquoise water. the trip really was great if you don't think of all the motion/morning sickness. i threw up a handful of times, but still managed to pull myself out of bed and have fun. happy birthday cade!

so once gain another month has passed by and i have not posted one thing! we did a lot of fun things this summer, but most recently we decided to spend a day at cowabunga bay (water park). cade's sisters and their kids came along and we had a great time swimming, going down slides, and floating the lazy river. for those who have not been, you should go. it was really fun. since summer is almost over we decided we needed to go to the zoo with all the kids. once again we packed up and headed to salt lake. the weather was great and the kids did really well considering we were there for 4 hours. we still have one more camping trip planned and maybe some boating. i am sad to see that summer is coming to an end, but that means there will be less things to do in the yard and garden and lots more time to spend together!!!!

ava got a little pink potty last week. as soon as it was set up she went pee! she was so excited. since then she goes a couple of times a day. i think i will just let her get more interested in it before we really start training her. she is still kind of little. since she thinks she is so big we decided to convert her crib to the toddler bed [ without the rails] and so far she has done great. she has not got out of her bed yet. i can't believe how much she has grown up lately.

camping has become one of out favorite past times this summer. we went with aaron and ashley up to the narrows to boat and jet ski. we had such a good time until..... sophie got sprayed by a skunk! i have never smelled anything so bad in my life. sophie slept outside and cade and aaron and hope decided to keep her company. sometime during the night hope must have found the spot and rolled all over in it because she smelled just as bad that next morning. the next day they both got scrubbed with tomato juice (which did not work that great, but helped).

ava went out on the tube for the first time and really liked it until her face got a little wet. i think that she is going to be a water baby. she loves to help cade drive the boat or just sit next to him and watch. we will definitely go back again, but maybe keep the dogs on a leash.

so it's been a while since the last update:) things have been really busy. my sister had her baby about 3 wks ago and she is a beautiful little girl. her name is brielle. there is a picture in here somewhere of her. then last week we went to lagoon (it's where fun is..) and it was fine. way too hot to walk around. kind of glad that is over with for a while. we went to the fireworks friday with natalie and tony and halle ( ava's bff). they are so funny together! they wouldn't hold still for a good picture though. then we were off to bear lake to see brannon and the family at their camp out. we had a really good time hanging out on the beach and out on the boat. sorry all the pictures are in a weird order, but i just don't have a spare second to fix them!

i can't beleive i almost forgot...... no more binky at our house. yipee

first campout of the season

summer is finally here (some days i wonder if it is here to stay) and so we decided to go camping. cade and i bought a camper from his sister, so we thought we would take her for a test! we went to hyrum dam with my sister and her kids. i think that the best part for the kids were the pine cones. they had a pine cone fight, threw pine cones in the water, and then burned a few in the fire and roasted marshmallows over them! one night was enough for me. ava ended up in our bed and i think i slept less that night than i did when she was a newborn. next time we will be sure to have her own little bed made up.

On May 28th my brother Aaron and his cute little wife Ashley had their first baby! She is so tiny and so adorable. I think she looks just like her mommy with Aaron's coloring. She is so sweet. Her name is Scotlin and she weighed in at 6lbs 4 oz. We are all very excited to have another little one in the family. In another month my sister Heather is having a little girl. Lots of new cousins to play with.

As most of you know, Ashley (my sis-in-law) is having a little girl in June. I love to do showers of pretty much any kind so of course, Heather and I decided to do one for Ashley. Heather decided that we should try to do a diaper cake and had this darling idea!! I think it turned out so cute!! It really was not hard to make and only cost about $25-30. Just thought I would share this really cute idea with everyone. Tis the season for babies. Thanks Heather for the great idea!

Easter Weekend

This Easter seemed to be the most fun yet! Friday we decided to hit up the Baby Animal Day. We had so much fun. Ava was actually really into it this year. One of the best $14 we have spent on a fun afternoon. I think that all the adults had just as much fun as the kids. Saturday we got up and did the Hyde Park egg hunt, that went way too fast! At lees that morning they also did an easter hunt. It was a mad house over there. So later that afternoon we decided to go to Natalie and Eric's house to color our easter eggs. They turned out so BRIGHT and SPARKLY. They colors were so pretty. Sunday the Easter Bunny came and Ava had lots of good treats. We went to my moms for dinner and of course Ava got to show off her cute new dress. After a well needed nap that afternoon, Cade was off to work and a long weekend finally came to an end. Having kids can be so exhausting!

ava started walking about 2 weeks ago. the night before cade and i went to vegas she got up and walked out of our room and to the bathroom. we just looked at each other like... wow. so while we were gone she got much better. today she just cruises all around. take a look at our big girl.

what happens in vegas....

so we took a little trip to vegas over the weekend. we had a really good time. aaron and ashley went with us (actually it was ashley's idea since it was her b-day). i decided that we are a little pathetic!!! i thought we would party like we were 18, but nope. i recall the whole weekend. we were even in bed by 10:45 the first night we were there. we stayed on fremont street and had a lot more fun than we did when we went to the strip. there seemed to be less people and more things to do. the pool at our hotel was pretty cool. there was a big aquarium with sharks and fish in it and a water slide that went through it. it was really fun. i kind of wished we had another day to go a few more places, but i was really glad to get home and see my baby... that is WALKING!!

Valentine Day Surprise...

so today was valentine's day and cade has once again outdone me!!!! we had agreed not to get gifts for each other since next week are leaving for vegas. well ava and i made cute little cards for cade (1st picture). when i woke up this morning and went into the living room i found his present to me..... he is the sweetest guy ever. sometimes i wonder how i got so lucky to have him.

so cute.... i love these so much!!!!

i can't wait to get these hung on the wall. family really is the most important thing in our lives and i will never forget that, especially when i get to wake up to these beautiful pictures of my little family!!!!!!

This was taken at a run down pump house in Fielding and yes I was the amazing photographer with the mad skills! (Oh ya, Tana did some editing for me) Ava has so much personality, just like her mom. I grew up surrounded by girls and I will die surrounded by girls, couldn't have a better group of women in my life. Yes yes, that includes my sisters and mother, the same as Tina's sisters and mother. I didn't think she would post this picture so I thought I would. It seems like a lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. Ava has really started to change. She is learning things so fast. She has started to do faces that show "happy, mad, and scared" it is so funny. She is learning what baby animals say, but really only remembers a few. She started standing alone a couple of weeks ago and then last night at my moms house she took 4 steps all by herself. She now is addicted to MITTENS!! She wears them everywhere. If one happens to come off she gets so mad. It is so funny. She will sometimes wear them to bed and then in the morning when I go in to get her she has them in her hands ready to put on. She is just so funny. I did have to post a couple of pictures of her pigtails!! This was the first time I was able to get both done without her throwing a fit. they are so tiny that they look kind of funny, but oh well.

Ava had her FIRST Birthday on Saturday and it was so fun. She didn't really get into her presents and didn't really get into the cake, but it was still fun. I can't believe that our "baby" is not a baby anymore! This was a very Bitter Sweet day for me. Only a couple of tears though.

Christmas was a blast. Ava had so much fun even though she didn't quite understand what to do. I think that she got way to much stuff this year. We went sledding the day after christmas and she loved it. After an hour or so she still wanted to stay and play. Cade got her a tiny sled with a back on it and a seatbelt so she could ride all by herself. I will try to post a video of her.

Last week Cade and I decided it was time to try something new. We went out and did our own family pictures. We asked Ashley to tag along to help us out and she did great. We ended up with some great pictures. I think we did pretty good. Then on Thanksgiving Cade's sister Tana took some more of us. The ones that I have seen...turned out so darling. I can't wait to see them all!!

Ava's new thing is to pull faces and copy-cat anything you do. Our favorite is the kissy/bitter beer face. She sniffs really fast while she puckers her lips. You can hear her pulling that face all the time. It is so funny.

Tuesday we decided we better get our pumpkins done. This year we decided to paint instead of carve. It was so much better. We were done so much faster and not a huge mess. We got some great ideas from my friend Emma and the cute mummy was thought up by Brannon. They all turned out so cute. If these get smashed before Halloween I will be so MAD.

Last weekend we had our HALLOWEEN PARTY and PUMPKIN CARVING!! Everyone brought a Halloween dish for our GROSS and SPOOKY dinner. The dinner ideas could not have been better. We had " dog food, kitty litter cake, mummy dogs, little mummies, brains, guts, witch fingers, monster fingers" the list goes on and on. There were even a few things that I did not even want to try. Almost everyone dressed up and I am happy to say that the costumes were great! Between the pumpkin carving and the games everyone seemed to have plenty to keep them busy. It seemed to be a long day, but I am so glad that the family could get together. Hopefully we get to do this again next year. HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO EVERYONE!!

Ava has 4 teeth now!! Her top front started to come in about 2 weeks ago. Now you can finally see them when she smiles. I love her sweet little smile, she looks like such a big girl. I have the feeling that she is really going to be causing trouble around here. So far the crib is safe, but anything else is fair game. I really need to get things put up that I don't want chew marks on!!

She has already perfected her technique since we took this video and gets around really well! Man she is fast!

Ava has loved going on bike rides. I am so sad the weather is getting cold and we have not been on a ride for a while. She looks so cute in her little helmet!! I am glad Cade is brave enough to take her out. I don't think I could ever put her on the back of my bike. So THANKS Cade for making sure Ava has a fun time!!!!

I have never been stuck at a store before without a bottle or a Binky...until the other day! I thought oh well I will just buy her "biter biscuits" and that should tied her over until I get home. BAD idea. I should have just bought her a new damn Binky! What a mess to clean up later. That crap does not wipe off! It was straight to the bathtub. Moral of the story is...never forget a Binky or bottle and if you do just buy a new one. It will save you so much time and frustration in the end!!

Camping in the Uintas...

Over the weekend we went to the annual Warren Family Reunion. We had a great time. This was Ava's first camping trip. It was pretty warm most of the time which was a big change from the years past!! We had three little babies (Ava, Tucker and little tiny Gracey) they all did so good. I wish I could put all the pictures on here so everyone could see how much fun we had. A Mom's Best Friend!!

Ava can finally sit up on her own and since then things have been HEAVEN!!
This little chair of Cambers has become one of Ava's favorite things.
I can leave Ava in her chair and get things done. I just take her room to
room with me. I finally feel like I have some freedom.

I finally got Ava a high chair/ booster chair. It was so fun to just put food on her tray and let her figure out what she needs to do with it. I love that she can finally do things without my help.

Sparklers

Since Cade has missed most of the fireworks this year we decided to do a couple at home the other night. Ava has never seen them up close and she was so excited. Sparklers were her favorite. She kept trying to grab them and then she would just start to giggle. It was so cute. Aaron and Cade just kept lighting the sparklers until the box was empty.

The 4th of July came and went so fast. I went to the fireworks with Natalie and met up with some of my family. All the kids seemed to have a good time. I could not get a smile out of Lena to save my life. I got the best picture I could of the little girls with their festive outfits! Ava and Halle had a pretty good time at the Logan fireworks on the 3rd. Neither of them stayed awake long enough to start the show. Eventually Ava woke up and watched. She actually did really well, she just watched wide eyed as usuall. Halle woke up just to see everyone walking off to their cars. Oh well.

Cade and I took Ava and met up with Natalie and her family for the Lewiston fireworks, which were much better!!! Ava pooped all over Natalie after being there about 45 seconds. It was pretty funny ( I was just glad it was not me this time). Poor Halle did not have fun, she just cried and then fell asleep. It was such a fun weekend!!!

Summer is here to stay....Finally

It is finally warm enough to sit outside and play. I guess it has been warm enough for a couple of weeks, but we finally had the chance to enjoy it. We layed under the tree in the shade for a while, something that we have not done since last summer. Ava thinks that she can sit up now!! She has to use her hands to steady herself and she topples over after a few minutes, but she loves it. I can't believe how fast she has grown. Sophie wanted to sit with Ava in the shade so Cade got them set up for a picture (he is the cutest daddy).

Ava finally got to go swimming. We had a nice day and took advantage of it. We packed up our pool bag and off we went. Ava really liked the water, but not so much her "cozy crab" floaty. She liked us to just hold her in the water. The crab would be better if she could stay sitting upright. Oh well maybe next time. Ava looked so cute in her little swim suite and sun hat!!

Ava discovered her toes a few weeks ago and I swear they are going to be raw if she does not stop sucking on them. Ava is doing all kinds of new things. Last week she rolled over for the first time. She has started eating solids and really loves the sweet potatoes. All she does is talk to herself or screech at us when she is not getting enough attention. I cannot believe how fast Ava has grown. Next week she will be 5 months old!!!!

This last weekend we went to Colorado Springs to visit my grandparents. We went with Heather and Ben and their kids. We had a great time. The kids really loved the zoo, playing in the pool, and of course the airplane, and my grandparents really loved meeting their 3 great grandkids. I wish that we would have stayed 1 more day to get everything in that I wanted. I have not seen my grandparents since I have been married so it was a trip that was very overdue. All in all things went really well and we can't wait to get back next year.

Saturday 4/26/2008 was the blessings for Ava and her cousin Mia. The girls looked to cute in their little dresses. Ava got the cutest little bouquet of roses from her grandpa (my dad). She looked beautiful. We had the whole family here, it is not very often that everyone is together at the same time. We went down the street to the park for a big BBQ and it was so fun despite a little wind. Everything went really good.

Ava is 3 months old and finally had her pictures done yesterday, she looked so cute. I was really hoping that we would hit nap time and her feedings just perfect throughout the day so that she would be happy and smiling. Well it almost worked. She started out doing pretty good and then she got sleepy. Once we got her undressed for a couple of pictures she was mad and there was no turning back. We still got some great shots. I can't wait to get them back.

Today was my first day back to work. It was so hard to leave Ava this morning. There were a few tears yesterday and a lot today, but once I got to work and started getting busy it got better. Cade loved being home with her. He had her bathed, dressed, and fed by the time I called to check in. Then he brought her to my work to visit. It was so nice. He is so good with her. Maybe going back to work won't be so terrible after all.
